Cheryl Cummings Garden Design
I am an RHS award winning garden designer and registered member of the Society of Garden Designers covering an area of 20 miles radius from my office in Monmouth including Monmouthshire, parts of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and the Forest of Dean. Helping my clients to discover their own perfect garden and to see how much it can offer our native wildlife is my passion.

We each have our own tastes and lifestyles and by respecting the natural beauty of the garden, its existing wildlife habitats and the surrounding environment, each and every one of our gardens has the potential to be uniquely beautiful and provide a home to some of our rapidly declining native species. I've been designing gardens of all shapes and sizes for thirty years (so I've had a lot of practice!) and have the knowledge and experience to help you design your garden with confidence and flair.

Working together we can create a garden in harmony with your home, its environment and landscape, to reflect your lifestyle and tastes.
Services

I like to offer a flexible service tailored to suit the individuality of my clients and their budgets.
We almost always begin by meeting on site to talk about your priorities and the opportunities the garden holds.
This may be a one off consultation or be the first meeting of many as we take the design and implementation of the garden forward to completion and beyond.
A single advisory visit: to meet you and your garden might be all that we need.
It's an economical and cost effective way for you to use my experience and expertise and I will leave you armed with sketches, ideas and knowing how to proceed from there.
Inspiration, hints and tips
Report
The inspiration to make changes to our own gardens can come from anywhere.
From practical necessity as our homes and families change and grow, from other people's gardens, the natural landscape, the buildings around us or the patterns, colours and textures we find in the natural and man made world.
The opportunities available to us are endless so we need to refine them to suit our own needs, tastes and budgets.
Collecting photos is a great way to start, a scrapbook or mood board, anywhere we can gather all these external influences together so that they can be refined, thought through and the essence of what we would really like and our own uniquely personal style distilled to create a meaningful pallet of hard landscaping materials, plants, ornamental features and essentials.
Wildlife, the birds and bees
Report
The natural processes of seasonal change, leaf fall and decay, spring and renewal are the constant beating heart of any garden and its inhabitants which depend on these processes.
From the microscopic soil organisms we don't see, to the insects, birds, mammals and amphibians we do, they all form essential parts of its web of life, but will only thrive if the conditions are right.
When we get it right our gardens become wonderfully rich and joyfully alive; when we get it wrong they are silent and soulless.
